John Sandlin

PRESIDENT

John Sandlin founded Clarendon Properties in 2008. As president, he is involved in all aspects of Clarendon’s business including locating, analyzing and recommending potential opportunities for commercial development.  He brings an extensive background in commercial real estate development, finance, asset and operations management. John uses his experience as an owner and investor in several commercial income property projects and experience in financing, equity sourcing and transaction structuring to deliver the successful results Clarendon is known for. He has developed numerous retail projects, dental offices and hotels (primarily Hilton and Marriott).

John holds a BA from Wake Forest University and holds an MBA from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University. His emphasis of studies were in finance and real estate development in the construction industry. He is also a Graduate of the Realtors Institute (GRI) and a licensed Broker In Charge. Through the Realtor National Marketing Institute, he completed numerous courses of study including Fundamentals of Real Estate Investment and Taxation as well as Fundamentals of Location and Market Analysis.

John is very active in the community and has held leadership positions of various charitable and civic organizations including Cameron Executive Network- Cameron School of Business-University of North Carolina Wilmington, Board of Directors of the Duke Management Game at Fuqua School of Business, Divisional Coordinator for the United Way, Executive Board of Directors for Boy Scouts of America, Board of Trustees- Wrightsville United Methodist Church, Board of Directors and Volunteer for New Hanover County Meals on Wheels Council on Aging & more.

Gale Wallace

DIRECTOR OF PROJECTS
MANAGER/BROKER

Gale Wallace joined Clarendon Properties, LLC in 2012 and has over 30 years of real estate experience. She has an extensive property management and construction background, is a Certified Property Manager and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Interior Design. This diverse experience allows her to review and negotiate leases, purchase agreements and development contracts, assist in site selection and research, coordinate and assist in the design of the hotels and medical offices.  She is heavily involved in the oversight of the many facets of project development including construction, FF&E purchasing and installation.

Gale was raised in Detroit Michigan and she and her family relocated to Wilmington, NC in 2004. She is a graduate of Western Michigan University and holds a North Carolina Brokers license.  She is an active member of Cape Fear CREW (Commercial Real Estate Women) as well as a member of the IREM (Institute of Real Estate Management).

Kaitlin James

PROJECT MANAGER

Kaitlin James joined the Clarendon Properties, LLC team in the Summer of 2020. Upon graduating from East Carolina University, Kaitlin put her Interior Design degree to use right away. Working in both the residential and commercial design fields for a few years, she was able to create a diversified portfolio of projects and experience.  Wanting to be more involved in the entire scope of projects, Kaitlin shifted her attention towards Project Management, specifically hospitality. 

She is involved in the oversight of the many facets of project development including construction, FF&E purchasing and installation. Kaitlin resides in Raleigh, NC and her support includes but is not limited to the many on going and future projects in the triangle and triad. 

Lisa Morris

OPERATIONS MANAGER

Lisa Morris joined Clarendon Properties, LLC in 2019 as Operations Manager and
brought with her 25+ years of Business Operations Management, Financial
Administration, and Customer Service experience.  Most recently, prior to joining
Clarendon, she worked for a commercial real estate firm in Wilmington as Closing
Coordinator for all purchases and leases, as well as handled their operating and
trust account financials. 

In her role as Operations Manager at Clarendon, Lisa’s main responsibilities
center around financial oversight for project budgets and monthly reporting,
however, her great range of experience makes her a valuable asset to Clarendon’s hotel and retail development where she has assisted with reviewing leases,
purchase agreements, and development contracts.

Lisa was raised in Wake Forest, NC and relocated to Wilmington, NC in 2009.  She
is the proud mother of 3 children, and her grandson, Cohen, is the apple of her
eye.
